What You Can Do Series Joins Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen to Combat Hunger in New York City and Beyond for the Holiday Season

November 1, 2013 – New York, NY – For the second consecutive year, What You Can Do will team up with Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen in New York City, the second largest soup kitchen in the country, for the holiday season. Last year, What You Can Do fans helped Holy Apostles receive a $3,000 donation by participating in a Facebook “Like” campaign.

What You Can Do will feature week long campaigns to help address the dynamic challenges of people facing hunger. New What You Can Do videos will spotlight Holy Apostles and topics such as the working poor, along with the stories of Holy Apostles guests.

The week of November 18, join us to participate in the Holy Apostles “Fast-A-Thon”, or commit to skipping a meal and donating the cost to your local food bank. For Thanksgiving week, we will turn to water conservation with a challenge to turn off the tap during the holiday. The week of December 2, take a pledge to support your local food bank by “liking” our graphic on the What You Can Do Facebook page. In honor of Giving Tuesday on December 3, we will donate one meal per like up to a 1000 meal donation to Holy Apostles. The week of December 9, we invite fans to donate a gently used coat to Holy Apostles, a coat drive such as New York Cares or an organization serving homeless or hungry people in your community.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Holy Apostles and support their amazing work to help hungry people in New York City,” shared Alicia Arinella, What You Can Do executive producer. “We invite fans to join us in taking steps to combat hunger, one minute at a time."

Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen has been a symbol of hope and compassion in the Chelsea section of Manhattan since 1982. 1. I'm the same way I do my best to remain neutral. It's hard if you communicate with the person the other person dislikes then you fall out of favor with them! I simple can't dislike a person just because someone else does I just can't.
